The butterflies woke me up

I fell asleep to rain

Today they’re here to kill

Their wings cut into me finely

Upon waking, I immediately tried

To keep the butterflies inside

I curled up and closed my eyes

But still I felt the butterflies

Dashing, dancing, swiftly slicing

Killing me quietly, softly, sweetly

And should I scream

No one would hear

No one would see

The butterflies

that are killing me
