I wrote 4064 words between 8pm yesterday and 4am today. This is significant not only for the average number of words per hour being way higher than usual, but for being one of the longest streaks in terms of hours spent writing that I’ve had in a long time.
November has been crazy busy for me, and as a result I am far, far behind in NaNoWriMo, having only written 10k words since October 30th (I gave myself a head start). But even though I’ve been working on several other big projects, hey, I wrote ten thousand words!
Between scrapping everything and starting over at the end of September last year to before I went at this NaNoWriMo thing this year, I’d written about 36k words. That averages about 2800 words per month, give or take, and after taking out the 6000 I wrote in the first month of starting over, that average goes down to 2500.
This month still has ten more days to it and I’ve already blown my monthly average out of the water. So although I highly doubt I’ll have written 50k words by the end of November, NaNoWriMo is already a success for me.
I’m at 46 153 words and counting now, and I ought to get back to it. Thanks for reading!
